Step 6: Contact Your Real Estate Agent

If you have found a home you wish to puchase, prior to speaking with a real estate professional, the most important step you can take is to contact a Realtor. Talking to the sellers, or attempting to initiate an offer on your own can be costly and can hinder your ability to negotiate successfully.

Call, email, or visit your real estate agent’s office to make preparations to complete a Real Estate Purchase Contract (REPC).

A state approved form which serves as the documentation to make an offer on real property. The form is filled out and completed by Realtors. Once the offer is accepted it becomes the sales agreement and contract.
